Everything here runs in a browser tab. No install, no account, no launcher — a judge opens a link and is inside the work in about five seconds. Each submission carries its own technical write-up, because in each case the interesting part is the machinery.

Chessynth

Play chess and the score writes itself. Every musical decision — instrument, harmony, tempo, who carries the melody — is caused by something on the board, and the app will tell you which move caused it. Play the engine, or load any real game and listen to it.

How to judge it quickly

Pick a sound — orchestra, film score or techno — then ▶ Play Bot and make a few moves. The score is being written from your game as you play it. Two minutes of that is the whole pitch.

Then hear it on a real game

Choose a game loads a famous one or takes any pasted PGN, so the same engine scores Kasparov or your own last night's blitz. Then take the music log — Menu → Copy music log, or the copy icon on the panel — and every ply is listed with the chess that caused the music.

Trouble

Browsers only allow audio after a click, so nothing sounds until you press ▶ Play. Nothing is fetched from a third party. Contact paulwoll@gmail.com.
